Ballin’ Out for Charity is a community-driven basketball tournament organized by real estate industry professionals to raise funds for the Daily Bread Food Bank. This year’s event was the first ever, but the team behind it is already planning for the next year.

We were tasked with creating an identity, design a website, sponsorship packages, and more. The client sought a fun, energetic and positive brand, with a logo they could proudly put on caps, hoodies and t-shirts. The goal was to create buzz, capture attention, and gather people around a worthy cause.

Proposed creative combined simple logo with bold type and black-and-white photography. The intentional interplay between “corporate” photography and sport-inspired graphics resulted in captivating and playful visual language. It was unexpected, full of energy, bold and light-hearted.

The logo’s simplicity made it easy to reproduce in a single colour and was immediately applied to t-shirts, hats, and bottles.

I also developed logo variations tailored for diverse applications, created sample designs for social media, website and sponsorship package, and prepared comprehensive instructions for the internal team and client.

The event was a great success, with 16 teams of three signing up and playing 31 games of 3-on-3. The tournament raised over $70,000 for the Daily Bread Food Bank. Aside from that, it served as a great opportunity for the industry to network and connect. Despite the tight timeline we created a successful, buzz-worthy brand for the event. The team managed to rally numerous companies and real estate professionals who contributed through tickets purchases, team registrations, and event sponsorship.
